  • Your ministry is simply to welcome those who attend weekend Masses.
  • Please arrive at the church about 20 minutes before Mass begins.
  • You are to welcome all parishioners, along with new parishioners and guests who are celebrating the Eucharist at the Church of St. Andrew. Yes, very simply, your task is to welcome those who enter our doors for worship—to celebrate the Eucharist.
  • Greeter tags we are presently using are found in the ushers’ room.  Wear these tags during the liturgy, but, please return them after the Mass. We are in the process of producing new tags with your names on them. You can either leave them in the ushers’ room after Mass or take them home and bring them each week you serve.
  • If possible, a Greeter should be stationed at Door C. This will depend on how many Greeters are scheduled at each Mass.
  • It’s not necessary to offer a handshake. Each of you may decide whether you would like to or not. However, if a parishioner extends their hand, please reciprocate by extending your hand.
  • You may need to direct people to various areas of the church—crying room, chapel, etc.  If they are new to the area, they may be looking for information to register in the parish, about faith formation, or our school.  Be sure to give them the parish bulletin which contains information regarding parish staff and programs.
  • The purpose for greeters is to welcome people to the celebration of the Eucharist, so do not engage in long conversation with the people, especially those you know well.
  • Please dress appropriately for your ministry.
  • A First Aid/AED training session will be scheduled in the near future. If you are interested in attending, please let us know.
  • Thank you for your service to our parish community!
