Coffee Project

Coffee with a Purpose

Support a student, support coffee farmers, and enjoy great coffee!

Saint Andrew gourmet coffee is always fresh—directly purchased from a group of farmers in the Antigua highlands of Guatemala. Purchasing our coffee not only benefits the coffee farmers and their families in Guatemala, but also helps provide tuition support for Catholic school families here in our community!

PRICING INCREASE GOES INTO EFFECT MONDAY, MARCH 16 - A NOTE FROM FR. MARK:

As you know I have a new crop of coffee shipped fresh to me once a year. I store it and have it roasted professionally by Roastery 7 in Brooklyn Center. I only roast it right before I offer it for sale so that it is as fresh as it can get. I buy it from a group of farmers in Guatemala who I used to visit. They receive all the money because there is no middleman. When I started with them over twenty years ago, they were extremely poor and since that time have been able to raise themselves out of their abject poverty. They have invited others from their village and other surrounding communities to form co-ops with them and so more people are getting a chance to better themselves. On our end I sell the coffee and all the profit goes to help with tuition assistance and costs related to our school to help with whatever is needed.

In the past few years, my costs have been rising. I even had to pay import tariffs this past year. Because of this I will have to raise the price of the coffee to keep up with expenses and make some profit for the school. So, starting the week of Monday, March 16, I will be raising the cost to $15 dollars per pound.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I considered keeping it the same price and packaging it in 12-ounce bags instead, but the people I have spoken to have asked to keep the one-pound amount and just raise the price.

We have Medium, Dark, French Roast, or Espresso available, as ground coffee or whole beans.

Again, coffee is $15 for a one pound bag. ($15.45 per bag if purchasing with credit or debit card. The additional 45 cents is the 3% card processing fee.)

We also have Saint Andrew coffee mugs. They are $10 each, or $20 for a mug and bag of fresh-roasted coffee.
